tuna steaksTuna are sea water fish that are noted for how fast they can swim, in some cases up to 80km/h.  This doesn’t stop them being caught, and if it affects their taste it does so in a positive way. I love tuna steaks, and I think fresh tuna is something people don’t eat a lot of because they consider tuna to be a “canned fish”. A 200g tuna steak takes a 1:40 – 2:00 to cook each side, is absolutely epic on the barbie and requires very little seasoning.  You could just put a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper on them, I put a pinch of a salt, chilli flake and native lime mixture that I have on them.  The image I’ve got here is from Monday night, steaks served with a rocket and spinach salad with shaved radish, segments of orange and green olives. I also blanched some asparagus and served them on the side with a twist of lime.

Seriously, give it a hit.  Not only is it incredibly tasty but very healthy, takes about 15 minutes to serve and is a great excuse to fire up the barbie but make it part of kitchen cooking.
